The Brief: create a logo for an independent art school that prides itself both on traditional and nontraditional education. This logo bridges the gap between traditional and experimental techniques by focusing on a fundamental art exercise -- the continuous line (or blind counter) drawing. This exercise is intended to help artists connect their mind to their hands. The line loops around and connects to itself, creating an L and an S, the initials of the organization. The looping nature of the logo also represents continuity, both of education and of community.
