Lista Printmaking Posters

Posters for a series of printmaking workshops at an independent art school in Brooklyn

These posters were designed to promote a series of printmaking workshops for an art school called Lista Studios.

Lista prides itself on championing nontraditional approaches to traditional art. This workshop series leveraged gelli plate printing and etching in recycled tetra packs salvaged from used milk cartons.

Each of these workshops was targeted at a different demographic, and these differences were reflected in the poster designs.

The family workshop poster has a simpler, brighter feel, organized around primary colors. The stationery workshop leans into a similar color feel but with more nuanced variation in color, shape, and texture. The tetra pack workshop flips the light on dark scheme to a dark on light scheme, intended to reflect the difference between relief printing and intaglio printing. Finally, the adult mono printing workshop leans into darker, more saturated tertiary colors, more evocative of nightlife in order to appeal to an older audience.
