This project explores what a logo for a hypothetical 14th St. Business Improvement District might look like. 14th Street cuts through a swath of diverse neighborhoods, from Stuy Town and Alphabet City in the east, to Greenwich Village and Chelsea in the West.

This logo celebrates an experience common to every pedestrian on 14th Street, the moment of anticipation before crossing the street. By focusing on the pedestrian, this logo represents each neighborhood equally and uplifts 14th Street's status as one of New York's most trafficked streets.

The space within the impatient pedestrian's arm forms a carat shape, as you would see on a map, emphatically stating "you are here." The carat symbol can also be deployed as a secondary graphic element.
